I was on my quora.com page and this question came up Why do some people say “money is easy to acquire” while others spend most their waking hours working trying to make ends meet?
Along the answer I came across Money is easy to make when you have the right connections. Upbringing and culture can make all the difference.
I have been a middle class citizen most of my life and was not until I got the right connection that I became upper middle class. Money making opportunities came to me when I least expected simply through word of mouth. However, you can mess up an opportunity as well. You can have the right connection and not be prepared to take action. Some people are born with opportunities around them. Therefore, they have an advantage and head start. Other making money can be so hard became they don’t know how or where to start.
When you are living paycheck to paycheck frankly you don’t have the time to think about making money all you know is work, sleep, eat and work more. You don’t have a mentor or a peer to say “this is not working for you,… you need to be doing xyz and I can show you how. The more people you meet the better your chances. I’m not talking about anyone, but the right people, people that are already doing what you want to do. You have to link it all together and this may take awhile but what else you have to lose. Work hard on meeting the right people. Where to start? Meetups, Events, Social affairs. etc. if you love technology got to an technology meetup. If your Mom or Dad already has contacts consider yourself lucky.
This is why it’s so easy for some to make money and very hard for others. It was hard for me being a First Generation White Collar not having parents that had the connections. I did not focus on the why or how. I focus on myself and became very persistence at not being poor lol. I wanted my parents to be proud to have me for a daughter.
Stop making excuses and start making connections!

This post had me thinking on many levels. For one, I haven’t had a lot of help networking. However, my family does have substantial connect, none of which have worked to my advantage.
Ultimately, anyone can network and be successful. Networking is all about sales: selling yourself. Good salesmen know how to seek out potential buyer and meet with them. It’s no different in networking.
It’s really about being networking/connecting with the “right” people. You can be around a bunch of people that cannot help you grow and call it networking. If it’s not helping you, you need to change your circle.
